Privacy Policy

Last Updated: [Insert Date]

Tythe is committed to protecting user privacy and upholding the principles of decentralization, cryptographic security, and transparency. This Privacy Policy explains how Tythe collects, uses, stores, and safeguards your data, including during interactions with our APIs, platform services, and DISC Scoring mechanisms.

1. Data We Collect

Tythe processes only the minimum data necessary to enable trusted identity (TRIS), verifiable reputation systems, and organization onboarding. Data is collected in a privacy-preserving manner using ZKPs and decentralized architecture.

Standard Data for All Users:

  • TRIS Metadata: Decentralized usernames and associated public metadata.

  • Wallet Addresses: Used for identity linking, token transactions, and DISC Scoring.

  • ZKPs (Zero-Knowledge Proofs): For identity, credential, and activity verification without exposing raw data.

  • Interaction Logs: DISC Score updates, validation actions, token usage records.

  • API Integration Logs: Metadata from third-party platforms interacting with Tythe.

ZK-KYB (Know Your Business) Verification

Organizations integrating with Tythe undergo KYB verification using the following approach:

For On-Chain Organizations

Basic Details Collected:

  • Name of Project/DAO/Protocol

  • Project Website & Social Media Links

  • Corporate Email

  • Smart Contract Address(es)

  • Governance Model (DAO, Multisig, Token-weighted, etc.)

  • Primary Treasury/Token Holdings Wallet Address

  • Wallet Address Used for Tythe Onboarding

A basic check confirms that submitted details match public information.

  • ZK-Based Identity Verification:

  • UBO/Founder Identity Verification via Privado ID

Tythe only receives a ZK proof of successful identity verification and links it to the KYB profile

  • Treasury & Smart Contract Ownership Verification:

  • On-chain transaction analysis (past 3 months)

  • Smart contract ownership verification (via on-chain signatures or deployment records)

Data is verified using Polygonscan API and blockchain history

  • Governance & Community Activity Checks:

  • DAO voting participation (Snapshot, on-chain governance records)

  • GitHub/Open-Source Contributions (manually reviewed)

  • Funding & Grant Records (cross-verified on-chain or via public records)

ZK-KYB Compliance Check:

  • ZK-KYB Proof Submission (Privado ID - formerly PolygonID)

  • On-Chain Risk Assessment

No raw founder data is stored - only the ZK proof confirming compliance and verification.

No sensitive files are stored by Tythe.

Upon successful verification the organizations complete the remining steps for secure onbaording.

Tythe generates a ZKP hash associated with the organization’s wallet address for future logins.

This ZKP is stored securely in the organization’s Trovebook, linked to the onboarding wallet address.

ZK-KYH (Know Your Human) Verification

To ensure fair reputation systems and prevent manipulation, Tythe enables Know Your Human (KYH) verification during TRIS onboarding. KYH confirms that each TRIS is linked to a unique human while maintaining zero-knowledge privacy standards.

Tythe supports the following KYH verification methods:

  • ZK Government ID Verification via Privado ID

  • World ID (ZK iris-scan based uniqueness protocol)

  • Humanity Protocol (decentralized biometric palm-print verification)

All KYH methods are:

  • Optional but required for full TRIS functionality

  • Performed via zero-knowledge proofs — Tythe never stores, sees, or controls any raw identity data

  • Anchored on-chain using a nullifier hash, preventing duplicate identity submissions without revealing identity

Users may choose their preferred KYH path during TRIS creation. Tythe does not record which method was used unless needed for compliance display or tier segmentation (optional and anonymized).

Note: Individual platforms interacting with Tythe may still require full KYC for regulatory compliance. ZK-KYH does not replace external KYC when mandated by law.

2. How We Use Data

For All Users:

  • DISC Scoring using ZKP attestations.

  • Verifying credentials and decentralized identity (TRIS).

  • Managing token interactions and transaction logs.

  • Enabling secure platform interactions and fraud prevention.

For KYB Entities:

  • Establishing organizational authenticity and eligibility before API access is granted.

  • Linking governance behavior to DISC Scored project validation.

  • Verifying financial and compliance status (Off-Chain Organizations only).

  • Generating ZK-compliant organizational records.

For KYH Individuals:

  • Verifying that each TRIS is linked to a unique human

  • Enabling full TRIS functionality and DISC Scoring

  • Preventing Sybil attacks and identity fraud

  • Supporting optional verification via Privado ID, World ID, or Humanity Protocol

  • Tythe does not store any personal identity or biometric data, only ZK Proof hashes for database entry and matching.

For KYC (Only When Required by Integrated Organizations):

  • To provide ZKP-based KYC attestations for interactions with financial institutions, exchanges, and regulated platforms.

  • To enable compliance with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and CFT (Counter-Financing of Terrorism) regulations.

  • To allow users to reuse their ZKP-based KYC proofs across multiple platforms without revealing raw personal data.

No raw PII is collected or stored by Tythe. Tythe does not use ZK-KYB/ZK-KYH/KYC attestations for profiling, marketing, or data monetization.

3. Data Storage & Security

Tythe employs decentralized and cryptographic mechanisms to store and secure user data:

  • Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs): Used to verify information without revealing raw data.

  • Decentralized Storage: Data is stored on IPFS, Arweave, or other blockchain-based solutions, ensuring censorship resistance and immutability.

  • Smart Contracts, Wallet-based Security, & On-Chain Transactions: TRIS-related DISC Scoring and token interactions occur on-chain, enhancing transparency.

  • Encryption & Access Controls: All sensitive data is cryptographically secured, and unauthorized access is prevented.

  • No Centralized Databases: Tythe does not store raw identity files or corporate documents.

Tythe does not store user data on centralized servers.

4. User Rights & Control

Tythe ensures compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other global privacy laws, granting users the following rights:

  • Right to Transparency: Users can view how their TRIS, DISC Score, and KYB/KYH attestations are used.

  • Right to Opt-Out: Users can choose not to interact with organizations that require KYC.

  • Right to Portability: Users can re-use their ZKP-based KYC attestations across multiple platforms.

  • Right to Correction: Organizations undergoing KYB can correct inaccurate business metadata.

  • Right to Deletion: Organizations may request deletion of their KYB verification data upon offboarding from Tythe, subject to regulatory constraints.

Users can manage their privacy settings via Account Dashboard.

5. Third-Party Sharing

Tythe does not sell or trade any user or organization data.

KYB Data Sharing:

  • KYB data is processed only for organizational verification and not shared externally.

  • Verified organizations may display ZKP attestations of compliance for transparency.

KYC Data Sharing:

  • KYC attestations are only shared with the requesting third-party entity in ZKP format - no raw personal data is stored or transferred.

  • Tythe acts solely as a privacy-preserving verification layer without holding personal KYC records.

TRIS & Trust Score:

  • Publicly viewable on-chain and within Tythe’s interface.

Users and organizations maintain full control over how their compliance attestations are used.

6. Cookies & Tracking

Tythe operates with minimal tracking mechanisms and does not use traditional third-party cookies for data collection. However, we may use:

  • Session-Based Cookies: For secure authentication and anti-fraud measures.

  • On-Chain Analytics: To analyze DISC Scores and token interactions without linking to personal identities.

  • Decentralized Logging: For API usage without exposing private user data.

Users can manage cookie settings via their browser preferences.

7. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in laws, technology, or platform functionality. Users will be notified of material changes through on-chain announcements, website notifications, or email (if applicable).

Continued use of Tythe after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
